Why Christianity
In this message from our Why series, Dominic De Souza shares a personal and honest reflection on the question: Why Christianity?
Throughout the sermon, Dominic explores four key reasons for why Christianity is compelling:
Historically – examining the historical foundation of the Christian faith and the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
Philosophically – considering how Christianity offers meaningful answers to life’s deepest questions about truth, morality, and purpose.
Existentially – reflecting on the human search for identity, meaning, and hope, and how the message of Jesus speaks directly into our personal struggles and longings.
Experientially – sharing how faith in Jesus transforms lives, drawing from both his own story and the lived experiences of countless believers.
Why Unity
In this powerful message from our Why series, preached on 1st March 2026 at Elim Northampton, Jason Heron unpacks a vital question for today’s church: Why Unity?
Pastor Jason explores why unity is not just a nice idea, but a biblical mandate and a spiritual force. Drawing from Scripture, he reveals how unity strengthens the church, releases God’s power, protects against division, and becomes a powerful witness to the world.
Why Worship?
In this week’s Why Series, Donna Akodu explores why worship is more than just a song. Tracing it back before hymns and all the way to Eden, she reminds us that worship has always been about our relationship with God — a daily posture of surrender, not just music on a Sunday.
Why Serve?
In this week’s Why Series message, Pastor Lynda Heron explores why we serve in church — practically and purposefully. She shares why joining a team and serving isn’t just about filling a gap, but about building God’s house and growing in our own faith. In a world that encourages people to be served rather than to serve, Pastor Lynda reminds us that serving is biblical, life-giving, and an honour. Be encouraged to discover the joy and impact of playing your part on a team and serving within the life of the church.
Why Pray?
In this message from Elim Northampton, Pastor Jason Heron continues our Why? series with a foundational question: Why pray? Exploring both the purpose and the practice of prayer, Pastor Jason unpacks why prayer matters in the life of a believer and how Jesus teaches us to pray. Whether prayer feels natural or challenging, this sermon invites us to rediscover prayer not as a religious duty, but as a life-giving relationship with God.
Why Elim?
We’re joined by guest speaker Stuart Blount, Director of Ministry, as he continues our Why series by exploring Why Elim? Stuart takes us on a journey through the history of the Elim movement, unpacking its origins, values, and enduring sense of calling. This sermon looks at how Elim’s past shapes who we are today and why our movement still matters for the Church and the world. A helpful and inspiring reminder of our shared identity, mission, and purpose.
Why Give?
In this episode of the Why series, Pastor Jason Heron unpacks the biblical purpose of giving. Using scriptures like Proverbs 3:9, Proverbs 3:5, and 2 Corinthians 8:4, he explains how generosity honours God, demonstrates our trust in Him, and helps build God’s work while blessing others. A practical and faith-filled message that reframes giving as an act of worship and partnership with God.
Why Communion?
In this episode of our Why? series, Pastor Ryan Ireland explores the meaning and purpose of communion. Preached on 18th January, this sermon looks beyond routine to uncover why communion matters for followers of Jesus today. We examine the biblical context of communion, the posture of the heart we are invited to bring, and the spiritual fruit that flows from sharing in the Lord’s communion remembering and proclaiming his sacrifice.
Why Connect?
In this message from our Why? campaign, Pastor Lynda Heron explores the question “Why Connect?” and the vital role of connection in the life of every believer.
Preached at Elim Northampton on 11th January 2026, this sermon focuses on the purpose of Connect Groups and why being part of a group in church matters—so that no one has to do life or faith alone.
Pastor Lynda unpacks three key areas of connection:
Connect to people – building meaningful, supportive relationships
Connect to church – belonging, serving, and growing together
Connect to God – deepening faith through community and discipleship
Whether you’re new to church or have been part of the family for years, this message will encourage you to take a step towards authentic connection and shared faith.

Given – The Gift of Jesus
On 30th November, guest preacher Mark Ryan brought a powerful and hope-filled message to Elim Northampton titled “Given – The Gift of Jesus.” Journeying through key passages in the book of Isaiah, he revealed how the child who was given to us is far more than a baby in a manger—He is the promised King, the Wonderful Counsellor, the Mighty God, and the fulfilment of God’s redemptive plan.
In this sermon, Mark unpacks the prophetic layers of Isaiah to show that Jesus’ birth is the arrival of a King whose reign brings light, peace, and transformation. This message invites listeners to see Christmas not only as a celebration of Christ’s coming, but as an entry point into the greater story of God’s kingdom breaking into our world.
Be encouraged, inspired, and reminded of the extraordinary gift we have been given in Jesus.
Jesus: Fully God, Fully Man
In this week’s sermon, Pastor Jason Heron unpacks one of the most profound and essential truths of the Christian faith: the dual nature of Jesus Christ. Drawing from Scripture, he explores how Jesus is both fully God—eternal, divine, and sovereign—and fully man—able to understand our struggles, carry our burdens, and walk in our shoes.
Pastor Jason invites us to grasp the beauty and significance of this mystery: that the God of the universe took on flesh not only to save us but to be with us. This message challenges us to deepen our faith, trust in Christ’s compassion, and marvel at His majesty.
Whether you’re exploring Christianity or looking to grow in your walk with Jesus, this sermon will encourage your heart and strengthen your understanding of who He truly is.
Going Beyond — How to Press Into Your
In this stirring and faith-building message, guest preacher Rev. Nigel Tween unpacks 2 Timothy 4:6–18 to reveal what it means to go beyond—to step past barriers, distractions, and doubts in order to walk fully in the destiny God intends for your life.
Drawing on Paul’s powerful final words to Timothy, Rev. Tween reminded us of three life-shaping truths:
✨ The purpose you live for — embracing God’s call with clarity and conviction
✨ The person you become — allowing character, faith, and resilience to be formed through every season
✨ The presence you pursue — leaning on the Lord who stands with us and strengthens us
With pastoral warmth and prophetic challenge, he invites every listener to recognise their moment, rely on God’s sustaining presence, and run their race with passion and perseverance.
If you’re seeking direction, encouragement, or a fresh sense of calling, this message will equip you to press in, press on, and go beyond.
Listen now and be inspired to step boldly into your destiny.
Child Dedication Service
In this special Child Dedication Service at Elim Northampton, Pastor Lynda Heron shares a heartfelt message on what it truly means to dedicate our children to God. Drawing from the stories of Ruth and Samuel, Pastor Lynda explores how faith, surrender, and commitment to God’s purposes shape not only our lives but also the generations to come.
Through the examples of these biblical figures, she reminds us that dedication is not a one-time event, but a lifelong journey of trust — walking in faith as parents, families, and a church community.
Be encouraged and inspired to entrust your children, your future, and your family to God’s loving hands.
Ordinary People, Extraordinary God
The day after our grand opening celebration, we were honoured to welcome Mark Pugh, General Superintendent of the Elim Pentecostal Church, to bring a powerful and inspiring message. In this sermon, “Ordinary People, Extraordinary God,” Mark reminds us that God delights in using everyday people to accomplish His extraordinary purposes.
Through biblical insight, personal stories, and a fresh challenge for the church, this message stirs faith and calls us to step out boldly — trusting that when we make ourselves available, God does the impossible through us.
Tune in, be encouraged, and discover how God can use your ordinary life for His extraordinary plans.
Baptism
On Sunday, 26th October, Pastor Lynda Heron shared a powerful message on “Baptism”, drawing from Matthew 3:16–17, where Jesus is baptized and the heavens open, revealing the Father’s voice of approval.
Pastor Lynda reminded us that baptism is far more than a ritual — it’s a public declaration of an inward transformation. Just as Jesus’ baptism marked the beginning of His ministry, our baptism marks a new chapter of obedience, identity, and belonging in God’s family.
She encouraged us to live daily from the Father’s affirmation: “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” Every believer is called to walk in that same assurance — forgiven, accepted, and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
It was a joyful and faith-filled service as we celebrated with those taking this important step of faith, witnessing the beauty of new life in Christ.
Equipping the Missionary for the Mission Part 2
In Part 2 of “Equipping the Missionary for the Mission,” Pastor Jason Heron continues to unpack what it means to live as a Spirit-empowered missionary in everyday life. This message will inspire you to step out boldly, confident that the same Spirit who anointed Jesus also empowers you today.
Equipping the Missionary for the Mission
In this powerful message, Pastor Jason Heron continued our ReSet series with a timely and stirring word titled "Equipping the Missionary for the Mission." Drawing from Jesus’ declaration in Luke 4:18–21, Pastor Jason reminded us that every believer is called and anointed to live on mission — right where they are.
Empowered to Serve
The day after the impactful Dare 2025 women’s conference, Pastor Jason Heron shared a powerful word on how it is the presence of God—not just planning or effort—that makes moments like these truly life-changing. He reminded us that the same presence that filled the conference also empowers us to serve with obedience, humility, and strength. This message is a call to continue walking closely with God, knowing that lasting impact flows not from what we do for Him, but from being with Him.
